Governor Signs Toll Bill to Exempt Emergency Vehicles

The Virginia Ambulance Association is proud to announce that today, the governor signed into legislation a bill that recognizes the contribution of ambulance companies of all types by exempting all licensed EMS vehicles from payment of tolls operated by the state of Virginia. With more than 50% of ambulance transports in Virginia being conducted by private EMS agencies, it was important that the state recognize the impact of toll roads on the cost of providing medical transportation. The VAA and its member agencies were active in advocating for the passage of this bill. We appreciate the assistance of lawmakers and the governor in this effort.
